Home shifting in Mumbai

A home move that feels looked after

Shifting home usually means a lot to arrange in one week: the society letter, the lift booking, the kids' school bags, and the question of whether the glass dining table will make it in one piece.

Our job is to take the heavy part off your plate. A Leo crew arrives with all the packing material, packs your home room by room, labels every carton, dismantles what needs dismantling and loads the truck in a planned order.

At the new home we unload, put furniture in the rooms you choose, reassemble the beds and wardrobes, and take the packing waste away. You end the day in a home that's ready to live in, not one buried in cartons.

We move everything from a 1 RK in Marol to a 4 BHK in Powai, within Mumbai or to another city. If you're moving locally, also see our local shifting in Mumbai page.

Room by room

How we pack each part of your home

Different things need different packing. This is how our crew handles the rooms that worry people most.

Kitchen

Crockery and utensils

Plates go on edge in sturdy cartons with paper between each one. Glasses are wrapped one by one, and oil and spice jars are sealed and packed upright.

Living room

Sofa, TV and showpieces

The TV gets bubble wrap and foam corners. Sofas are covered in stretch film, and showpieces are wrapped and packed in small cartons.

Bedrooms

Beds, wardrobes, mattresses

Beds and wardrobes are dismantled, fittings go into labelled bags, and mattresses are sealed in covers to keep them clean and dry.

Pooja room

Idols and religious items

Idols and frames are wrapped in soft cloth and bubble wrap, packed in their own carton and marked so they're handled first.

Electronics

Fridge, washing machine, computers

Fridge doors are taped shut and the fridge travels upright. The washing machine drum is secured, and cables are labelled and bagged.

Wardrobes

Clothes and linen

Clothes are packed in clean cartons or kept on hangers in wardrobe cartons, so they come out ready to wear.

Shifting during the monsoon?

From June to September we add an extra layer of plastic on sofas, mattresses and wooden furniture, seal cartons fully and keep tarpaulin on the truck, so Mumbai rain doesn't reach your belongings.

Your moving day

How your home shifting goes

The same four steps on every move, so you always know what's happening next.

  1. Survey & quote

We see your goods, ask about lifts and parking at both buildings, and send a written quote with the date and vehicle size.

  2. Packing day

The crew arrives with the material, packs room by room and labels every carton with its room.

  3. Loading & move

Heavy furniture goes in first and fragile cartons go on top. Everything is tied down before the truck leaves.

  4. Unload & settle in

We place furniture where you want it, reassemble beds and wardrobes, and clear the packing waste.

Before moving day

Your moving-week checklist

A few things only you can do. Sorting them early makes the day go much more smoothly.

  • Tell your societyGet the moving letter or NOC and confirm the allowed moving hours at both buildings.
  • Book the service liftMany buildings need a day's notice, and some charge a lift fee.
  • Plan truck parkingMake sure a truck can stand near the gate for a few hours at both ends.
  • Defrost the fridgeSwitch it off and dry it at least 24 hours before packing day.
  • Sort out the gas cylinderFilled LPG cylinders can't travel with your goods. Talk to your gas agency about a transfer.
  • Keep valuables with youJewellery, cash, documents, medicines and laptops should travel with you.
  • Pack an 'open first' bagChargers, toiletries, a change of clothes and the kids' essentials for the first night.
  • Note meter readingsTake photos of the electricity and water meters at the old home.

Family moves

Moving with children, elders and pets

A home move is hardest on the people who can't help with it: young children, elderly parents and pets. A little planning makes the day much easier for them.

For children, we suggest packing a small bag of their favourite toys, books and a night light to travel with you, not in the truck. We pack their rooms last and unpack them first, so their space feels familiar by bedtime.

For elders, tell us about medicines, walking aids and special furniture such as an orthopaedic bed or a recliner. We set those up first at the new home. If someone in the family finds noise and activity stressful, it can help to plan for them to spend packing day with a relative.

Pets travel with you, never in the moving truck. Keep them in a quiet room with the door closed while the crew works, and tell the team leader, so doors are kept shut and nobody is surprised. Pack their food, bowls and bedding in the same 'open first' bag as your own essentials.

FAQ

Household shifting questions

How much does household shifting cost in Mumbai?

It depends on how much you're moving, the floor and lift access at both buildings, the distance and the packing material needed. A 1 BHK within the same suburb costs much less than a 3 BHK going across the city. We give you a written, itemised quote after a free survey.

How long does it take to shift a 2 BHK?

Packing a typical 2 BHK takes 5 to 7 hours with a crew of 4 to 5. Most local 2 BHK moves are packed, moved and unloaded in a single day.

Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?

Yes. Our crew dismantles beds, wardrobes and dining tables where needed, keeps the screws and fittings in labelled bags, and puts everything back together at your new home.

Do I need to be at home during packing?

It helps to be there at the start to show us what's going and what stays, and at the end to check the rooms. If you can't be there, a family member or a person you trust can stand in, and your coordinator will keep you updated on WhatsApp.

Can you shift on a Sunday or in the evening?

Yes, as long as your society allows moving at that time. Tell us your society's rules during the survey and we'll plan the slot around them.

What should I pack myself?

Keep jewellery, cash, important documents, medicines and laptops with you. Everything else, including the kitchen, can be packed by our crew.
